死亡詩(shī)社,外文名Dead Poets Society,又譯為春風(fēng)化雨;暴雨驕陽(yáng),是由羅賓·威廉姆斯、伊桑·霍克以及羅伯特·肖恩·萊納德主演的一部勵(lì)志電影,故事講述的是一個(gè)有思想的老師和一群希望突破的學(xué)生之間的故事。
威爾頓預(yù)科學(xué)院一向都是以傳統(tǒng)、守舊的方法來(lái)教授學(xué)生,可是新學(xué)期來(lái)校的新文學(xué)老師基廷(Keating)卻一改學(xué)校的常規(guī),讓自己班上的學(xué)生們解放思想,充分發(fā)揮學(xué)生們的能力。告訴學(xué)生們要“把握當(dāng)下”(拉丁文:carpe diem,英文:seize the day),并以該原則行事。在教學(xué)的第一堂課上,基廷并沒有在教室里上課,而是領(lǐng)同學(xué)們看校史樓內(nèi)的照片,讓他們?nèi)ヱ雎犓勒叩穆曇,并去領(lǐng)悟的生命的真諦;⑸踔烈髮W(xué)生將課本中古板老套的內(nèi)容撕去,自由的教學(xué)方式讓學(xué)生開始懂得自己的興趣、愛好、前途和目標(biāo)。他的學(xué)生們甚至于反抗學(xué)校的禁令,重新成立基廷曾于該校學(xué)生時(shí)代參與過(guò)的秘密小組——死亡詩(shī)社 (Dead Poets Society,另譯:古人詩(shī)社),在校外很遠(yuǎn)的山洞中探討詩(shī)歌、人生。但不久后,學(xué)校發(fā)現(xiàn)這個(gè)小組,校方對(duì)基廷老師教育方法十分反對(duì)。
基廷的學(xué)生尼爾(Neil)熱愛表演,并在一次演出上大獲成功。但他父親堅(jiān)決反對(duì),并將他帶回家決定第二天讓其轉(zhuǎn)學(xué)。尼爾極度痛苦卻無(wú)法傾訴,在當(dāng)晚自殺了。小組成員之一卡梅隆(Cameron)出賣了他們。校方逼小組成員在聲明上簽字,將責(zé)任推卸與基廷身上,將他開除出學(xué)校。在老師要離開學(xué)校的時(shí)候,學(xué)生們站立在桌上,并說(shuō)著"哦,船長(zhǎng),我的船長(zhǎng)!",以表達(dá)老師傳達(dá)給他們的信念會(huì)在他們心中一直存在著。
